Technical Sales Engineer – Canada Stockholm Precision Tools (SPT) Preferred Location: Ontario (preferred). Other locations in Western Canada are possible. We are looking for a Technical Sales Engineer to provide on-site and remote technical services to our clients across Canada. This role combines technical expertise and field service engineering with sales-driven support, ensuring that customers receive successful commissioning, training, and technical assistance for SPT products and services. Position Overview The Technical Sales Engineer will be responsible for delivering technical training, field commissioning, and on-site customer support while identifying sales opportunities and ensuring customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in geology, mechanical engineering, electronics engineering, physics, or related fields and will be comfortable working in field environments. This position requires frequent travel to customer sites, mining operations, and drilling locations across Canada. Key Responsibilities Field Service & Technical Support On-Site Commissioning & Training: Conduct commissioning, pre-check, and post-check procedures to ensure SPT equipment operates correctly. Customer Success & Satisfaction: Ensure clients maximize the effectiveness of SPT’s solutions, resolving any technical challenges to keep their projects running smoothly. On-Site & Remote Technical Support: Provide real-time troubleshooting, diagnostics, and maintenance support to customers, both on-site and remotely. Technical Prescriptions & Recommendations: Advise customers on the best use of SPT equipment to optimize drilling performance and data accuracy. Technical Documentation: Maintain detailed records of service activities, customer interactions, and equipment performance. Sales & Business Development Support On-Site & Remote Technical Sales: Identify potential sales opportunities while providing technical support in the field. Customer Relationship Management: Work closely with clients to understand their needs and ensure a high level of satisfaction and trust in SPT products. Product Demonstrations & Presentations: Conduct live demonstrations, presentations, and training sessions on the functionality and benefits of SPT tools. Collaboration with Sales Team: Work alongside the sales team to support the technical aspects of customer engagements and proposals. Industry & Product Knowledge Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in mining and drilling measurement. Maintain expert-level knowledge of SPT products, services, and software solutions. Requirements Education & Technical Background: Degree in Geology, Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Physics, or other technical disciplines related to the mining or drilling industry. Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in technical field service, commissioning, training, or technical support within the mining, geotechnical, or drilling sectors. Previous experience in technical sales or customer-facing engineering roles is a strong advantage. Skills & Competencies: Strong technical troubleshooting, problem-solving, and diagnostic skills. Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to customers. Hands-on experience with mining or drilling measurement tools is a plus. Comfortable working in field environments, including remote mine sites. Ability to travel frequently across Canada for on-site visits. Language Requirements: Fluent English (native or professional level). French proficiency is highly valued.
