Your new role The firm is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Insurance Defence Litigation Law Clerk to join its team. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing complex insurance defence litigation files from inception to resolution. They will work closely with the firm’s lawyers to prepare legal documents, conduct legal research, and assist in trial preparation. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional to take on a senior legal support role within the firm. Your responsibilities will include: Manage and oversee complex insurance defence litigation files. Prepare and draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and affidavits. Conduct legal research and gather relevant case information. Assist lawyers in trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and coordinating witnesses. Maintain and update case files and ensure all documentation is accurate and up-to-date. Liaise with clients, opposing counsel, and court officials as needed. Provide administrative support to lawyers, including scheduling and correspondence. What you’ll need to succeed Experience: 8-10 years of experience in insurance defence litigation as a Law Clerk in Ontario. Skills: Strong knowledge of insurance defence litigation procedures and practices, excellent legal research and writing skills, and proficiency in legal software. Attributes: Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to manage multiple priorities. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
