If this sounds like something that interests you, read on ABOUT THE ROLE Reporting to the Director of OEM, the Product Manager is responsible for product lifecycle planning with a focus on indoor and outdoor cycling. This includes managing the product roadmap, managing products through their lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision and key features (including regulatory requirements), and defining the customer journey. The Product Manager liaises with Engineering, Marketing and Operations to successfully develop and launch products. This also includes working with Sales, Marketing and Customer Support to ensure revenue, margin, and customer satisfaction goals are met. The Product Manager’s job also includes ensuring that product and marketing efforts support the company’s overall strategy and goals. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES Define the product development strategy and roadmap by analyzing new product opportunities and new features in existing products to support corporate product line diversity, revenue and innovation goals Work with management, customers, sales teams and service team to identify key business opportunities Understand and document the market and competition including features and pricing Lead ideation of potential solutions to market opportunities Lead the process of proving the feasibility of the selected idea Prepare business cases for proposed new and enhanced products Translate user problems and requirements into product requirements Prepare and document market and product requirements Embody the vision of the company based on knowledge of user behavior while also considering business objectives Monitor the regulatory and compliance landscape and ensure products meet those requirements Work with various departments on the development and execution of custom products, including specifications, agreements, change notifications, support and troubleshooting documentation Facilitate cooperation between cross-functional teams to develop product, marketing and partnership strategies Search for and analyze information on competitor’s financials, product strategy, M&A, market share, news coverage, marketing and wins/losses; become the expert on what competitors are doing in the marketplace Inform management on competitive products, pricing and value proposition Act as the voice of the customer within the company Develop the core positioning and messaging for the product Define solution value, differentiation and key marketing messages Communicate solutions with customers, sales team members, partners, analysts and media Perform product demos to customers Recommend pricing to meet revenue, profitability, and product positioning goals Oversee the development and implementation of sales and support tools and collateral for new products and features Support the business through technical writing and periodic updates on development status Other duties, relevant to the position, shall be assigned as required QUALIFICATIONS 5 years of experience as a Product Manager or Product Marketing Manager 3 years of experience in the sports technology market; cycling industry is an asset Minimum bachelor’s degree in a related field Technical background, with experience in product development, electrical, software, and/or mechanical engineering, and sports technology Ideally a frequent user of cycling and fitness technology Excellent teamwork skills; collaboration is critical Focussed on excellent product design and execution Demonstrated success of defining and launching products Able to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority Able to effectively plan, organize, prioritize, direct and control tasks related to product management Able to prepare product proposals with a blend of focused research, strategy and creativity Excellent written and verbal communication skills Energetic, self-motivated and results-oriented Proven team player who is both flexible and adaptable Excellent writing, content development and editing skills A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution and people management skills WORKING CONDITIONS AND ADDITIONAL DETAILS Ideally, working full time in Cochrane Alberta A hybrid working arrangement is also possible – a mix of working from home and at the worksite in Cochrane International travel required; must have a valid passport Please apply via your LinkedIn profile and attach a cover letter and resume, or email hr4iiii.com with a cover letter and resume.
