Job Title: Litigation Assistant Job : 16760 Job Type: Full time, permanent Location: Toronto Salary: Up to $80,000 Remote Flexibility: Hybrid Remote Flexibility Client Profile Our client, a Toronto law firm, is currently looking for a Litigation Assistant. Office conveniently located in Toronto’s Financial District Duties and Responsibilities: Supporting 2 Senior Associates and 1 Junior Associate; Prepare correspondence and legal documents court materials, and assemble documents both electronically and hard copy, including review and editing skills to ensure accuracy and efficiency; – Manage electronic organization of all correspondence documents in document management system and in accordance with court filing procedures, signing and filing of documents; – Prepare internal and external communications including letters, emails and memos; – Manage client file deadlines and diarize key dates in Outlook; – Prepare and deliver monthly client invoices and following up on outstanding accounts; – Open/ close / maintain legal files; – Schedule appointments and web meetings, conference calls and manage calendars for lawyers; and – Assist with other administrative tasks as needed. Requirements: – Graduate of a Legal Assistant Program; – 3- 5 years of litigation experience within a law firm, with experience in corporate tax law an asset; – Solid understanding of litigation including Rules of Civil Procedures, knowledge of the Federal Court Rules and Tax Court of Canada rules an asset; – Strong proficiency with MS Office, DocuSign, ACL, Adobe Acrobat, document managements systems, experience with Aderant Accounting program an asset; – Confident and dependable, with strong initiative and ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented atmosphere – Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills – Excellent interpersonal, organizational and time management skills; and – Client focused, professional, and positive attitude.
