Your new role As a Legal Assistant specializing in Personal Injury – Accident Benefits, you will provide essential support to the legal team in managing accident benefits claims. Your role will involve a variety of tasks that are crucial to the smooth operation of the legal process. You will be responsible for: Communicating effectively with clients, insurance adjusters, and medical professionals to gather necessary information and documentation. Assisting in the preparation and filing of accident benefits claims, ensuring all required forms and documents are completed accurately. Managing and organizing case files, maintaining up-to-date records of all communications and documentation. Scheduling appointments, medical assessments, and meetings, coordinating with all parties involved. Drafting correspondence and legal documents under the direction of the assigned lawyer. Liaising with healthcare providers to obtain medical records and reports. Ensuring timely follow-up on outstanding documentation and tasks. Utilizing legal software to track case progress and manage deadlines. Providing general administrative support to the legal team as needed. What you’ll need to succeed To excel in this role, you will need: 1-3 years of experience as a Legal Assistant, with a focus on Personal Injury and Accident Benefits. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal software, enabling efficient handling of documentation and communication tasks. Strong organizational and multitasking skills, allowing you to manage multiple cases and tasks simultaneously. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, facilitating effective interaction with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders. The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, demonstrating initiative and teamwork. A thorough knowledge of Ontario accident benefits procedures and documentation, ensuring compliance and accuracy in all tasks. A keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy, ensuring high-quality work and minimizing errors.
