The Head of Studio will lead the team in delivering top-tier design, creative, and video projects. Collaborating closely with our Agency Creative Director and the client, you will foster strong relationships, offer creative insights, and enhance the integrated teams by effectively representing your studio and team. This candidate will lead the creative team in producing innovative, visually compelling content that aligns with brand identity and market trends. This hands-on role ensures seamless execution across digital and print platforms while shaping the studio’s creative vision. Additionally, the position drives the adoption of design processes within the newly formed Studio department, offering creative direction, operational support, and resource management to optimize team efficiency and structure. The leadership role requires an individual that can operate with composure and can handle high pressure situations, ensuring a climate within the business in which people want to do their best. The Head of Studio has client diplomacy, strong presentation and communication skills, and a proven track of developing and growing a team as well as a killer portfolio of multimedia work. Key Accountabilities Lead the team in concepting and creating designs for a variety of campaign materials, including digital banners, social media content, print assets, event materials, and other marketing collateral. Be able to lead designers to deliver craft and quality while also being able to jump in yourself. Understands digital design best practices for email, websites, and channel platforms. Serve as a studio subject matter expert, providing insight and guidance on best Studio Creative practices. Collaborate with the Agency Creative team and client to lead discussions on creative direction, design, and studio projects. Provide direction and guidance for the motion team as well as other non-design members of the creative delivery team. Excellent attention to detail in deadline driven, pressured environment Advanced designer, able to define visual characteristics and understand the client’s identity to create innovative visual design elements. Leverages creative experience and advanced knowledge of visual design and development to stimulate innovative designs from ideation to execution and delivery Be able to lead designers to deliver craft and quality while also being able to jump in yourself Responsible for ensuring brand consistency while offering a fresh approach to design, artwork, digital and print output. Ensure that the final product aligns with the needs of the creative and is delivered on time and within specifications. Ability to work quickly in design software specifically Adobe Creative Cloud & Figma. Understand the restrictions and limitations of the designs deliverable process and manage client expectations (where appropriate) through providing education in relation to design limitation and/or restrictions Maintain an open and solution-focused demeanor when working with teammates, especially when dealing with short deadlines, changing direction, and roadblocks. Maintain organized files and workflows to facilitate collaboration in a remote work environment. Manage and streamline the studio’s workflow and processes, ensuring they are easily accessible and implementable by other staff members. Stay abreast of industry trends and developments and new applications Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines. Appropriately delegates responsibilities; clearly states expectations Management Acts as a leader, guiding the team to meet company and client needs Communicate departmental goals, expectations, capabilities, and achievements across the company Effectively serves as a role model to all team members Provides effective communications, ongoing feedback, and coaching to team to help them effectively perform their jobs in a manner consistent with company expectations Meets with employees on a regular basis to review their goals, objectives, and performance and feedback information to department head. Serves as a resource for questions about projects and process; provides appropriate guidance to ensure projects stay on time and on budget and completed to company standards, championing departmental best practices. Works closely with direct reports to evaluate and update employee development plan at least bi-annually; conducts annual performance review in a professional manner Works diligently to assist employees in their professional development Enforce team policies to ensure alignment of activities to corporate policies Required Skills Bachelor’s degree in Digital Arts/Graphic Design (or related field) 10-12 years of Agency, Creative, and Design Experience. Experience managing a team within an agency or studio. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Firefly) Expert in Figma design and aware of to implement the design systems. Strong interpersonal communication, presentation, and computer skills A strong eye for design and an interest in seeking new inspiration and design styles, while demonstrating a clear understanding of design best practices—especially pertaining to typography and composition Experience with multimedia creative: digital and video. Attention to detail, adaptability, and receptiveness to feedback and direction Ability to work independently or with a team to designs and solve problems Passion for being part of a team; strong ability to collaborate effectively in a remote work environment Knowledge of AI.
