Sr. Manager, FP&A (eCommerce, Marketing Finance) Overview We are seeking a Senior Manager, FP&A to lead financial planning and analysis for our eCommerce business, with a strong emphasis on marketing spend, customer acquisition, and unit economics. This role will partner closely with marketing, growth, and finance teams to optimize ROI on marketing investments, improve forecasting accuracy, and drive data-driven decision-making. The ideal candidate has deep experience in eCommerce, digital marketing finance, and performance measurement, coupled with strong analytical and strategic thinking skills. We’re working towards a fresh new look and want to hear from you Key Responsibilities Financial Planning & Analysis Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for marketing spend and customer acquisition costs (CAC). Develop robust financial models to assess the impact of marketing investments on customer lifetime value (LTV), profitability, and growth. Work closely with the marketing and growth teams to analyze return on ad spend (ROAS), cost per acquisition (CPA), and other key performance metrics. Support monthly and quarterly financial close processes, ensuring accurate tracking of marketing expenses and financial performance. Strategic Business Partnership Partner with CMO, growth marketers, and digital teams to align financial goals with business strategies. Provide scenario planning and sensitivity analysis to help optimize marketing spend allocation across channels (e.g., paid search, paid social, affiliates, influencer marketing, TV, etc.). Develop insights on customer acquisition and retention strategies, working with marketing to improve profitability. Monitor competitive benchmarks and industry trends to inform marketing investment strategies. Data-Driven Decision-Making Drive marketing finance analytics using data from sources like Google Analytics, Facebook Ads, Shopify, and CRM tools. Implement attribution modeling and marketing mix analysis to measure effectiveness across different channels. Work with data teams to improve reporting dashboards, ensuring real-time insights into marketing spend and performance. Operational Excellence & Process Improvement Establish processes to track and optimize marketing budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources. Work on automation and standardization of financial reports to improve visibility and efficiency. Develop and maintain key financial KPIs, ensuring marketing investment aligns with long-term business goals. Qualifications & Skills Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or CFA is a plus. 7 years of FP&A experience, preferably in eCommerce, DTC, or digital-first businesses. Strong background in marketing finance, customer acquisition cost (CAC), lifetime value (LTV), and digital performance marketing metrics. Proven experience working with marketing teams and understanding digital ad spend dynamics. Deep expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, and variance analysis. Strong analytical skills with experience in SQL, Excel, Tableau, Looker, or similar tools. Experience with eCommerce platforms such as Shopify, Google Analytics, Meta Ads, and performance marketing dashboards is a plus. Ability to communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. Self-starter with a results-driven approach and the ability to work independently. Strong accountability and ownership of tasks and responsibilities. Positive, team-oriented attitude with the ability to adapt to challenges and objectives. Experience with QuickBooks Online is an asset. This is a full-time hybrid position based in Toronto.
