Energy Technologist Office options: Mississauga or Vaughan, Ontario 3 days a week office – 2 days remote Report to: Mechanical Engineering Practice Leader Group Benefits Plan RRSP – company match up Gym Membership Bonus Interview process: 3 THE ROLE Weaving new and unique approaches into high performance design processes across the mechanical and electrical engineering portfolio, while ensuring the efficacy of sustainability strategy development. Applying knowledge and expertise with high-performance mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems and energy codes. Carrying out the evaluation of buildings and system design strategies. Educating project stakeholders on new technologies, as well as innovative solutions. Supporting the oversight of building certification, in addition to performance verification activities and processes. Working with applicable analytical tools to help inform design, as well as document performance in alignment with accepted standards. Develop tender documents and design packages which include drawings, specification, and sequences of operations. Coordinating with other disciplines internally, as well as externally with consultants. Participate in project meetings and provide updates on project progress. Client interfacing, as required. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Experience, Education and Certifications Completion of a degree or diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or Energy Technology. Possession of one or more of the following designations / certifications is considered an asset: PMP, CEM, EIT (working towards P.Eng is an asset.) Minimum of 3 years of experience in building energy systems analysis, retrofit design and operations. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required. Required Skills and Abilities Working knowledge of AutoCAD, REVIT and Microsoft Office Suite. Equest / Carrier HAP / RETscreen / Hot2000 / EnergyPlus skills are assets Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Exceptional attention to detail, specifically in accuracy of calculations and completeness of data collection and notation. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Proven ability to meet deadlines / successful completion of projects. Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities. Self-motivating and able to multi-task while maintaining a high level of organization. Ability to act with business integrity and professionalism.
