JOB OVERVIEW : We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Director, Business Technology Solutions to lead a team, reporting directly to the SVP Technology, focused on aligning our Canadian business technology applications with the overall business strategy. This role will be responsible for fostering strong collaboration between IT and key business stakeholders, ensuring that technology effectively supports business needs. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in IT leadership, combined with a good understanding of business processes within the investment management industry or a related financial services sector. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS : Technology & Business Alignment: Work closely with business leaders to understand strategic goals and translate them into technology solutions that drive value. Strategic Business Planning: Collaborate with business stakeholders across the organization to understand key priorities and objectives, delivering a proposed roadmap including timelines, resources, and key benefits. Leadership & Team Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a team responsible for business technology, ensuring alignment with enterprise IT and business objectives. Collaboration with PMO: Partner with the Project Management Office (PMO) to oversee project execution, ensuring technology initiatives align with business priorities and are delivered on time and within budget. Project Delivery: Work with the PMO to develop detailed requirements, solution documentation, testing/deployment procedures, and training materials for the firm’s business applications, while providing functional/development support as needed. Governance and Operating Models : Work with the data management team to develop data governance frameworks and operating models designed to support the long-term adoption and development of key applications such as Salesforce, data warehouses, marketing platforms, and other systems as needed. Process Analysis: Collaborate with business leaders to understand their key operational challenges and partner with them to update processes using new applications and frameworks. Performance Management: Partner with teams across the firm to assist in developing new dashboards and analytics tools that enable business leaders to have immediate and deeper insights into their respective teams and goals. Stakeholder Engagement & Communication: Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor on technology strategy and implementation. Regularly interface with executive leadership and business teams, ensuring clear communication and shared vision around digital initiatives. IT Strategy & Governance: Contribute to the overall IT strategy, ensuring business technology investments align with enterprise architecture and security policies. Operational Excellence: Drive continuous improvement in business technology operations, ensuring high performance, scalability, and efficiency. Vendor Management: Oversee relationships with software providers and digital applications providers, ensuring optimal terms, performance, and collaboration. QUALIFICATIONS : University degree Experience with key business applications such as Salesforce, Jira/Confluence, Charles River, Eagle, and advisor/client portals. Experience in IT leadership roles, with a strong focus on business technology. Proven experience working with senior business stakeholders to align technology with business strategy. Experience in the investment management, retail wealth industry or a related financial services sector. Strong understanding of business applications, enterprise platforms, and digital transformation initiatives. Hands-on experience collaborating with PMO teams and managing technology project portfolios. Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
