The Salvation Army Thrift Store, National Recycling Operations, is a division of The Salvation Army – the largest non-governmental provider of social services in Canada. We help generate funds to support local programs and services like food banks and homeless shelters while contributing to environmental sustainability through retail and recycling. Reporting to the Digital Marketing Manager, the Digital Marketing Coordinator is responsible to support digital marketing programs and initiatives to expand and grow the organization’s digital ecosystems. The successful candidate is a proactive, resourceful, and highly organized individual who has the ability to self manage. They will work on a diverse set of digital marketing activities and will be required to learn quickly, problem-solve, and adapt to change. Accountabilities: Oversee social media content scheduling and online community engagement Support social media content development (written, photo, video) and performance reporting with direction from Manager Oversee email marketing set-up, scheduling, and reporting Assist with website content, including CMS editing and on-site SEO Assist with maintenance, compliance, analytics, and recommendations for improvement across all digital platforms nationally (website, social channels, email marketing, etc.) Provide admin support for the planning, execution, and reporting of digital advertising buys to support campaigns, events, and other promotions Collaborate with others on the Marketing and Communications team with day-to-day digital projects Perform competitor and trend research Support online data collection and analysis Understand role of different digital marketing tactics and their impact on achieving marketing objectives WORKING CONDITIONS: Working environment is primarily remote 2-3 days per month of travel around GTA for photo and video content development required, subject to business needs Some scheduled overtime will be associated with this position; on occasion, may work outside of regular business hours as business needs require The above responsibilities must be performed in keeping with The Salvation Army’s Mission, Vision, and Values, in a professional manner, upholding our code of conduct. Education, Qualifications and Certifications: Completion of a 2- to 3-year college diploma or university degree in digital marketing, or related discipline An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered Experience and Skilled Knowledge Requirements Minimum two years of related digital/social media/marketing experience in an organizational setting; previous non-profit experience is an asset Excellent working knowledge of Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok, including content creation on these platforms and strong understanding of KPIs Demonstrated storytelling ability using a broad range of digital marketing tactics Excellent working knowledge in various software and reporting tools such as Microsoft Office, WordPress, SproutSocial, and Salesforce Marketing Cloud Ability to quickly learn new digital applications Working knowledge of GA4 reporting basics Skills and Capabilities: Willingness to develop an understanding and support for the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army in Canada and its implications as related to position responsibilities. Work in compliance with OH&S Act and Regulations and abide by The Salvation Army’s health and safety policies and procedures. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities as required Demonstrated organizational, problem-solving, collaboration, and analytical skills Outstanding time management skills and attention to detail Excellent use of English language and writing for online applications Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) Ability to work effectively in a team environment to meet tight deadlines Positive, enthusiastic, solution-focused and will take initiative Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment Highly self-motivated and directed Effective organizational and time management skills Proficiency in French language is a strong asset Driver’s license and/or ability to travel around GTA required We provide a passionate fast paced community environment where you will be immersed in our operations and service.
