The Opportunity ML6 is happy to support one of our favourite Engineering Consulting clients in their search for a Manager, Industrial Structures to lead their team in the Toronto office. In this role, you’ll lead and oversee structural engineering projects, ensuring their successful execution within budget and on schedule. You’ll manage client relationships, foster business development, and guide a team of professionals to deliver high-quality structural solutions. What You’ll Be Doing Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of Structural Engineering projects, ensuring they stay on budget and meet deadlines while managing client expectations. Act as Project Manager for projects where structural engineering is the primary focus, overseeing all aspects of the project lifecycle. Identify business development opportunities and procure new projects and clients within the Greater Toronto Area. Lead proposal efforts, including scoping and RFP assessments. Oversee project execution by guiding project teams, scheduling resources effectively, and serving as the primary point of contact between project teams. Manage project financials, including invoicing, progress payments, account receivables, and maintaining project budgets. Supervise and develop detailed structural designs for various engineering projects, such as commercial and industrial building structures, transportation facilities, gas industry structures, power generation facilities, underground water retention structures, and retaining walls. Perform advanced engineering calculations and designs based on engineering principles, industry standards, and regulatory codes, ensuring projects are completed from concept to construction. Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of Industrial Structures staff, providing mentorship and guidance. Provide technical assistance and ensure consistent, high-quality delivery for all projects. What You’ll Need to be Successful Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on structural engineering. Professional Engineer designation (P.Eng.) is required. A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the field. Advanced understanding of concrete and steel codes, finite element analysis, building structural design, Ontario and National Building Codes, building permit processes, and applicable structural engineering standards. Experience in technical report writing.
