Position Overview The Business Development role will support existing clients in Western Canada while identifying and cultivating positive, profitable relationships with new clients. This individual is a well-rounded relationship builder with a proven track record of understanding client needs and delivering well-researched business solutions focused on efficiency and compliance. The pallet industry serves a broad range of sectors including forestry, lumber manufacturing, nurseries, agriculture, food supply, wineries, and breweries—making multi-industry experience a strong asset. Key Responsibilities Foster and grow business by partnering with existing clients and developing leads. Meet with existing clients to understand their needs and offer tailored solutions. Seek out, create, and maintain positive, mutually beneficial relationships with new clients. Grow business through self-generated leads and maintain long-term partnerships. Provide clients with accurate, well-researched product information, including compliance and specifications. Collaborate with internal staff to ensure accurate pricing, timely delivery, and invoicing. Ensure quotes deliver value to clients while maintaining appropriate margins. Present product information to clients in a timely and professional manner. Represent the company at industry events, actively network, and maintain a relevant presence in trade associations. Experience and Qualifications 5 years of experience in a similar role with high-volume quotas and increasing responsibility. Proven ability to partner with clients and develop tailored business solutions. Strong knowledge of sales and business development concepts and practices. Proficiency in reading blueprints and understanding manufacturing systems and materials. Confidence in hosting discovery calls, prospecting, building rapport, and closing deals. Strong client orientation with the ability to adapt to various dynamics and nurture loyalty. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to ask the right questions and actively listen. Independent thinker with the ability to convert vision into tangible sales results. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs. Natural ability to coach and mentor team members. High attention to detail and accuracy. Strong problem-solving and multi-tasking skills with a sense of urgency. Ability to work independently and as part of a high-performing team. Willingness to learn new products and processes to stay current with industry changes. Additional Details This role is based in-office, with regular travel to client sites as required. Compensation includes a guaranteed base salary for the first six months, followed by incentive-based pay using a scaled margin system.
