Title: Business Development Manager, Travel Industry Department: Sales & Marketing Reports to: Managing Director Location: Toronto, ON (Office & Field-Based) Job Description: We are seeking an experienced, service-oriented and results-driven Business Development Manager (BDM) for Canada with a strong background in sales and marketing in tourism and travel trade relationships . This role will be responsible for overseeing nationwide business development , establishing and growing relationships with travel agencies, tour operators, and other key partners. The BDM will work from both the office and in the field, conducting regular travel agency visits to drive awareness, increase sales, train agents and implement strategic initiatives that enhance the client’s market presence in Canada. Areas of Primary Responsibility and Focus: Sales & Business Development: Drive car rental or hotel sales nationwide by identifying and expanding partnerships within the travel trade sector. Develop and execute strategies to grow revenue through travel agencies, and other B2B distribution channels. Negotiate and manage preferred agreements with key travel trade partners. Account Management & Relationship Building: Maintain and develop relationships with travel agents, tour operators, wholesalers, and travel networks across Canada. Conduct sales calls, in-person agency visits, and virtual meetings to promote products and incentives. Organize and conduct training sessions and webinars for travel agents. Field Work & Market Engagement: Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and sales missions to increase brand visibility. Work closely with marketing teams to develop sales materials and promotional campaigns tailored to the Canadian market. Stay updated on industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs. Reporting & Performance Tracking: Monitor and analyze sales performance, market trends, and customer feedback to refine strategies. Submit weekly/monthly reports on business development activities and progress toward sales targets. Qualifications & Experience: 5 years of experience in B2B sales within the car rental, travel, or tourism industry. Strong network of travel agency, tour operator, and corporate travel contacts in Canada. Experience in sales, business development, or account management in the car rental industry is highly preferred. Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets. Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills. Ability to work independently while being part of a collaborative team. Comfortable with frequent travel across Canada for client meetings and industry events. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM tools. Bilingual (English & French) is a strong asset.
