Join our client’s team and play a pivotal role in shaping their relationship with the Canadian and US news industry. As a News Partnerships Manager, you’ll be the primary point of contact for key news partners, driving the success of our client’s programs and products while advocating for their needs within our organization. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement strategic initiatives and foster strong, collaborative relationships. This role requires a dynamic individual who can navigate the evolving news landscape, build impactful partnerships, and contribute to our client’s strategic vision. You’ll work onsite at our client’s office three days per week. Key Responsibilities: Cultivate and Manage Partner Relationships: Serve as the primary liaison for key Canadian news partners, including publishers, associations, and key opinion leaders, providing expert guidance on our client’s products and partnership strategies. Drive Program Execution: Plan and execute impactful programs, training sessions, and partnerships, collaborating seamlessly with internal teams across communications, marketing, programming, government affairs, and public policy. Develop Scaled Strategies: Contribute to the development and optimization of our client’s strategy for engaging with smaller, local news publishers. Support Business Development: Negotiate and execute licensing agreements and contracts with select partners, driving business growth. Act as an internal advocate: Be the voice of your partners within the company. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a technical, quantitative, or business-related field, or equivalent professional experience. Minimum of 4 years of experience in news publishing, strategy consulting, business development, media/digital strategy, or corporate strategy leadership. Proven experience in partner management, cross-functional collaboration, and leading operational initiatives. Preferred Qualifications: Experience leading complex strategic and operational projects. Familiarity with the technology and/or news media sectors. Strong ability to manage ambiguity, solve complex problems, and scale effectively in a large, distributed organization. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Experience influencing senior stakeholders in a matrixed environment. Experience in sales, partnerships, or business development.
