Sequence Capital plans to win business via speed, consistent service and fair pricing. What we are looking for in a Business Development Manager? This role is highly entrepreneurial in nature. The successful candidate will function with autonomy and will bring excellent networking skills to grow the group’s presence in the mortgage broker community. Although you will receive a competitive base salary, top performers will be compensated accordingly with no variable compensation cap. The BDM is results-oriented, whose primary responsibility is growing and fostering business relationships with mortgage brokers within their defined territory of the GTA/Ontario East . Our BDM’s are true sales professionals who can make meaningful connections and trusting relationships through excellent communication and negotiation skills. They are “brand ambassadors” carrying out duties with honesty and integrity. Duties and Responsibilities Your top responsibilities will involve seeking out new partnerships and relationship management to grow the mortgage portfolio. Perform relationship building activities in a professional manner that encourages open communication and provides the “Optimal Broker Experience”. Create awareness of Sequence Capital’s offerings by training and educating brokers through a variety of group presentations and one-on-one sessions. Utilize sales and marketing programs to differentiate Sequence Capital that drives business. Identify broker needs and business opportunities and construct a plan to address them/capitalize on them. Manage broker performance focusing on volumes, funding ratios, and any other metrics as determined by Sequence Capital. Develop an annual strategic territory and business plan. Create a touch-point strategy to organize work week, appointments, and presentations. Required Skills/Abilities You have a thorough knowledge of the mortgage broker network and emerging industry trends. Independent, self-managed professional who enjoys developing new businesses in a fast-paced, competitive market. Customer service, communication, presenting and listening skills are your strong suit. Relationship driven, strong ability to establish, maintain, and manage client relations. Excellent team player. Goal-focused mindset. Education and Experience You must be currently licensed as a mortgage broker or agent within your designated territory (either AB, BC, or ON). You have at least 5 years of mortgage sales experience or 2 years of underwriting experience. At least two years experience in a networking or relationship building sales role.
